Anti-Semitism and other hate grow at an alarming rate.
ANTI-SEMITISM IS CLOSING IN ON US!
THIS IS VITAL TO ALL OF US.
We must act now to protect the future of American Jews.
In a Time Magazine Survey of July 16, 2014 Judaism was voted the most admired religion in America. How our fortunes have declined since then.
It began to go quickly downhill for us in 2015
The Internet and political candidates in 2015 spreading hate-the perfect storm.
When people feel that conditions in the country are bad, they become resentful. That is the atmosphere where Anti-Semitism becomes most intense and widespread.
That made a large swath of the American people hate those institutions.
Hate in one form becomes hate in another form.
That hate, combined with Anti-Semitic material on the internet, was the perfect storm.
It blew away our sense of security and our ability to freely express ourselves as Jews.
We could see it on campuses, in newspapers, online and on radio and TV. It created the need to add security to our synagogues. We never know when a visitor to a website or social-media will have his mind twisted to a point where he will carry out a deadly attack on us. College students face Anti-Semitism daily.
We cannot just shrug each one off by itself. We must see all of these things combined.
What more do we need to see before we act?!
We all know that Anti-Semitism is a growing problem. Many of us have experienced it first-hand. In America, we are 2.4% of the population but 64% of the hate crimes are committed against us.
What Is Our Goal?
We have a goal. We want a world where Jews can freely identify as Jews without fearing exclusion or unjust criticism or even attack. That is very different from what we find today on campuses and in the experience of many Jews.
We want an America where support for Israel is not questioned.
The days when we could just donate to an organization that fights Anti-Semitism are over.
We must do more; not only donate, but act! Some of us can donate more!
Anti-Semitism comes closer, and is more powerful than ever.
From the internet to college campuses to waning support for Israel in Congress, it grows.
How Do We Reach Our Goal?
Grow in numbers! Our first mission is to recruit others!
With large numbers we can do things that no one can do alone.
The plan is to ask many Jews to each give a few minutes a week to fight anti-Semitism.
The plan is to ask many Jews to each give a few minutes a week to fight anti-Semitism.
Let us adapt our thinking so that we will react to Anti-Semitism, not just resent it.
You will feel a lot better, knowing that you have done something about it!!
I Believe in You.
Every Jewish person in America should receive an email. The top half tells why the bottom half of the email should be forwarded to a Congressman, Senator, newspaper editor, or where ever it will be most effective. All we have to do is click to forward the email. We could each add our own thoughts or refrain from sending it. The email to forward will be fact and not opinion. Therefore, most of us will agree with it.
Other Jews will be willing to do more. All I ask of them is twenty minutes twice a week.
Who could not spare 20 minutes twice a week? Some of us will do it, but there has to be a role for everyone.
A few Jews will want to be real Maccabees. They will be the leaders of this movement. If you are one of those leaders, please contact me at jacobson@opposehate.org.
If you know such a leader, please ask that person to read this website: opposehate.org. This must be a national effort. We need a large number of leaders. Finding those leaders is the best thing you can do. But better yet, can you be a leader?
IT WILL TAKE ALL OF US.
We have wonderful organizations that are fighting Anti-Semitism. I hope you continue to support them. Let me say it again. I hope you continue to support them, even more.
They contact influential people and have prevented many Anti-Semitic acts. I take nothing away from them. But for all of their efforts, Anti-Semitism grows, mostly propelled by the internet.
Our success will not be possible unless they continue. Neither will their ultimate success be possible unless we reach a large number of Americans.
Reach out to friends and family in other states. We need to grow greatly, and we need to grow soon.
Refer them to this website: opposehate.org. Ask them to contact their friends and family. With large numbers we can watch all the media, crowdfund for money, send letters to the editors when we see Anti-Semitic material, no matter how subtle.

This does not involve giving up anything that we do, or making any change in your daily lives. It calls first for an awareness of the situation. From this, all we need is a little bit from each of us. If enough Jews each gave twenty minutes twice a week, and every one else forwarded the emails, we could diminish Anti-Semitism significantly.
Also, you are people gifted with the ability to engage others. You can contact people in other states to keep our movement growing.
You can co-ordinate with other organizations.
This is important because we want to engage as many Jews as possible, so that we as a people can adapt. That is why I made the participation requirements as low as possible. The adaption is to feel deeply that we must all do something that opposes Anti-Semitism. Can you adapt that feeling? Can you carry that message to others?
Leaders must consult and persuade. I know you can do it.
Can you spend your minutes telling others to check our website, learn the facts,
and to join us and ask others to join.
There are so many projects we can undertake when our numbers grow.
We will be able to crowdfund for money.
We could watch all of the media.
Would you like to see billboards or signs on busses that say, “No one who tells you to hate is ever your friend”?
Would you like papers that carry Anti-Semitic innuendo to receive one thousand letters to editors?
Would you like to see calls to radio and TV stations calling out subtle or accidental Anti-Semitism?
Would you like to find a new way to carry out projects?
Would you like to create your own project?
Would you like to diminish Anti-Semitism?
So much is possible, but we must begin to grow now. It is in your hands!
We will grow in confidence from doing the deeds!
Routines turn ideas into action; then changes habit.
Let us adapt successfully to the new reality.
